Award-winning BBC presenter Waseem Mirza seamlessly transitioned to acting after being cast in his first principal role in DC's Pennyworth (HBO/WarnerBros) while honing his craft at a London drama school.

The Peterborough native's passion for performance began during journalism studies at the University of Lincoln, and he now balances acting with commercial projects for prestigious brands.

He made the switch to acting after a career as a TV News Presenter at the BBC, when he enrolled at drama school just before the Covid pandemic. His first High-End TV Drama role was on the AMC Networks/Acorn TV drama: London Kills, alongside Footballers Wives actress Laila Rouass. He then immediately booked a principal cast role on DC Studios/Warner Bros drama: Pennyworth The Origin of Batman's Butler.

He is due to make his first principal debut in a major US TV drama this fall (2024) and is due to star in the BFI funded short: Yellow Bucket. He made an appearance in British independent short crime thriller and proof of concept: Blue Snakes which has won over 40 awards on the festival circuit, with several having been crowned IMDb Qualifying.

Beyond the screen, Waseem remains a sought-after freelance journalist, focusing on technology as a presenter, event host, public speaker, and podcast host. His words and tech expertise have been featured in The Guardian, BBC 5Live, Metro Online, Lifewire Magazine, NTD News Channel UK & US, GG2.net, Sri Lanka Weekly, and #TheFutureTECHShow.
